Abstract

The objective of this work is to develop a method which solves the nonlinear elastohydrodynamic contact problem in a fast and precise way using model order reduction techniques. The reduction procedure is based on a projection onto a low-dimensional subspace using different hyper-reduction procedures. The method provides fast and highly accurate reduced order models for stationary and transient, Newtonian and Non-Newtonian EHD line and point contact problems.

Abstract

The compliance with functional safety according to the standard ISO 26262 in context of the increasing electrification of road vehicles is a significant challenge. This work provides a concept and methodology for the model-based development of functional safe hardware. This is characterized by the description of hardware designs, annotation of failure data and performing the demanded safety evaluations.

Abstract

Model transformations, together with models, form the principal artifacts in model-driven software development. Industrial practitioners report that transformations on larger models quickly get sufficiently large and complex themselves. To alleviate entailed maintenance efforts, this thesis presents a modularity concept with explicit interfaces, complemented by software visualization and clustering techniques. All three approaches are tailored to the specific needs of the transformation domain.

Abstract

This book deals with the Boolean model, a basic model of stochastic geometry for the description of porous structures like the pore space in sand stone. The main result is a formula which gives in two and three dimensions a series representation of the most important model parameter, the intensity, using densities of so-called harmonic intrinsic volumes, which are new observable geometric quantities.

Abstract

In this book a methodology for the evaluation of energy efficiency of mobile working machines by simulation is presented. It allows an efficiency analysis and systematic optimization of a single power train as well as a comparison of different power train concepts. The methodology is applied to a wheeled excavator. To ensure a realistic power demand in the simulation, a rule-based operator model is developed.

Abstract

This work combines the current trends in automotive industries (E-mobility, autonomous driving and connected car) in a new design of a driver assistance system for Hybrid Electric Vehicles that overtakes the speed control as well as the control of the energy management.

Abstract

The reason for this research are the differences of the bond stress-slip relationships between pullout, push-in and tension tie specimen. A general admitted bond stress-slip law is developed which bases upon analytical consideration. The new developed bond stress-slip law considers the three-dimensional stress state of concrete in front of the rib of the reinforcing bar.
