Abstract

This cross section study shows that school-intern further teacher training does not contribute to the achievement of objectives in the area of school development in Swiss vocational schools as it is intended by educational politics. Furthermore, it reveals that the questioned teachers do not think that school-intern further teacher training and school development influence their occupational situation in terms of lessons, occupational abilities and workday at all. Also most of them do not want any support service to implement such contents in their lessons. In consideration of these facts the lastingness and efficiency of both concepts are higly doubtful. The reasons for this outcome are diverse as this study shows. At first most examined vocational schools do not have a systematical concept of school-intern further teacher training and do not arrange their school development activities according to their superior programme. Therefore a connection between the field of school-intern further teacher training and school developement is not seen by the teachers and most of the experts. Above that both fields are in the area of responsibility of the school administration and do not involve the teaching staff. The objectives and superior programme of school development as well as measures of completed school development projects are not passed on to the teaching staff. In sum one can say that the desired development projects do not reach the teaching staff. Which is why they do not achieve the necessary reliability in order to develop the lessons of the teachers in a continuous improvement process any further.

Abstract

Der Band thematisiert die Ausbildung mündlicher und schriftlicher Themenentfaltungsmuster von Schülern im Deutschunterricht. Erzählungen, Beschreibungen, Instruktionen, Argumentationen und Berichte sind im kommunikativen Alltag einer Gesellschaft die Grundformen der thematischen Entfaltung komplexer sprachlicher Äußerungen. Sie werden sowohl schriftlich als auch mündlich realisiert. Im schulischen Deutschunterricht sind solche Themenentfaltungsmuster tradierte didaktische Gattungen des Aufsatzunterrichts und auch im Kompetenzbereich „Sprechen und Zuhören" soll die mündliche Realisierung dieser Muster vermittelt werden. Aber gelten für mündliches Berichten, Argumentieren, Instruieren usw. dieselben Anforderungen wie beim Schreiben? Oder muss man abhängig von der sprachmedialen Realisierung von verschiedenen Mustern mit gleichen Labels ausgehen? Die Beiträge dieses Bandes erkunden das Feld aus textlinguistischer und sprachdidaktischer Sicht neu.

Abstract

What questions does vocational and business education research deal with? The current yearbook provides answers to these questions: it addresses questions about the organisation, conditions and structures of vocational education and training. It discusses approaches to the development of expertise, the structures of 'dual' or 'dualistic' vocational education and training and the consequences of the academicisation of vocational education and training. Further contributions focus on vocational teaching, learning and teaching research as well as questions of higher education and teacher training research, including the specificities of part-time degree programmes. Finally, the authors ask about the significance of continuing vocational training for companies and employees in the skilled trades and about approaches for assessing trainees in company practice. The yearbook concludes with an overview of historical vocational textbook research.

Abstract

Wie leben und erleben Jugendliche ihren Alltag? Wie nehmen sie die historischen und heutigen Verhältnisse in Deutschland und in der Welt wahr? Was stiftet für sie Sinn? Welche Lebensentwürfe verfolgen sie? Welche Rolle spielen Mobilität, Nachhaltigkeit und digitale Medien in ihrem Leben?Diesen und weiteren Fragen geht die SINUS-Jugendstudie 2016 empirisch nach und bildet dabei die Vielfalt der Perspektiven jugendlicher Lebenswelten ab. Das gelingt ihr besonders anschaulich, indem sie 14- bis 17-Jährige in Form von zahlreichen Zitaten und kreativen Selbstzeugnissen ungefiltert zu Wort kommen lässt. Einzigartig ist auch, dass Jugendliche fotografische Einblicke in ihre Wohnwelten gewähren und erstmalig selbst als Interviewer ihre Fragen eingebracht haben. Die SINUS-Jugendstudie verleiht der jungen Generation somit eine öffentliche Stimme, die es genau wahrzunehmen gilt. Abstract

Governance and Public Administration in Switzerland Transformations before the Neoliberal Turn &#xD;&#xD;How did the state, its administration and its tasks change within the second half of the 20th century? To answer this question the articles in this book ana-lyze administrative practices as a crucial manifestation of statehood from the 1960s to the 1990s. Although the multilevel political system served as a stabi-lizing factor, a social and cultural readiness to reform also took shape, which has had a lasting impact on the management process. A neoliberal turn did not result immediately but a discussion in that direction was opened up.&#8232;The book deals with the structure-building effect of subsidies, the commercializa-tion and privatization of state tasks, as well as with effects of scientific exper-tise on administration and politics. Transformations in education, youth, eco-nomic, migration and health policy are highlighted. Three different disciplinari-an viewpoints - history, history of education and political science are synthe-sized in the conclusion, which also outlines a relevant research program for contemporary history.

Abstract

After the occupation of Hamburg by British troops on May 3rd, 1945, the Hamburg University was closed, but reopened on November 6th, 1945 - half a year after the end of the "Third Reich" and the Second World War. On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of this reopening on 6 November 2015, the University of Hamburg took the opportunity to publicly discuss the difficult transition of its own institution from the Nazi dictatorship into the democratic post-war period. This volume of "Hamburger Universitätsreden" documents the four speeches held on on this occation.

Abstract

From February 5th till 7th, 2015, the "Conference on Scientific Cooperation between Greece and Germany" took place at the University of Hamburg. About 100 scientists from Greece and Germany invited by the President of the University, Dieter Lenzen, took part in the project, discussing the current crisis in Greece which also dramatically affects scholarship there and whose effects are now a fundamental threat to the functioning of the Greek university system. This volume documents the German version of the English-language welcome speech of the President of the University in which he emphasizes the urgency of joint action as well as the opening speech by the President of the European Court of Justice Vassilios Skouris in German. Skouris describes the specifics of the scientific relations between Greece and Germany in both historical and contemporary terms.

Even with only a small number of known approaches theorizing architectural drawings and design practices during the 16th century, it is possible to reveal a broad influence on drawing theories, especially by perspective treatises and the so-called »Visier- und Messkunst« (measuring).&#xD;Reconstructing the various places of producing, collecting, displaying, and studying architectural drawings shows that architectural drawings were a crucial part in cultural processes of understanding, organizing, and dealing with the built environment.

Abstract

The study is in the German-speaking area the first and only one, which empirically evaluates the argumentation skills of students (n=48) at the high school level. It furthermore draws consequences for the research in youth theology. As the technical didactical background served creation as a narration about a good beginning, and evolution as a description of the origin and development of different species. This made it possible to explore the communication form „arguing“ in this fundamental research of the pedagogy of religion not only subject-specific but across different subjects. The results show that the researched students argue and thereby use different patterns subject-specific but also across different subjects. However, it remains unclear, whether they use these patterns consciously.
