Industrielle Produktions- und Verbrennungsprozesse stellen nach wie vor wesentliche Emissionsquellen für Luftschadstoffe und Treibhausgase dar. In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird daher ein Ansatz zur modellgestützten Analyse umweltpolitischer Instrumente hinsichtlich ihrer Auswirkungen auf sozio-ökonomische und ökologische Kenngrößen im Bereich der industriellen Produktion entwickelt und angewandt. Dazu wird ein dynamisches Input-Output-Modell mit einem akteursbasierten Ansatz gekoppelt.

Des travaux de Wassily Leontief, on retient surtout ses tableaux entrées-sorties (TES), les célèbres TES de la comptabilité nationale, en oubliant l’ambition scientifique au service de laquelle ils avaient été conçus. Développé à Harvard dans les années 1930, le TES est un élément dans un dispositif scientifique visant à faire de l’économie une science empirique. Il est une matrice comptable associée à un modèle mathématique de l’équilibre économique général. Ce dispositif est conçu comme une alternative à l’économétrie que Leontief considère mal équipée pour résoudre le problème de l’association de la théorie à la mesure statistique. C’est qu’en économie, selon l’expression d’Alain Desrosières, le mariage entre la théorie et les statistiques est tardif et que le branchement ne va pas de soi. Cet essai présente d’abord la méthodologie économique de Leontief et montre comment elle s’insère dans les grands débats épistémologiques de la discipline jusqu’à aujourd’hui. L’ouvrage propose ensuite une réédition de l’article de Leontief « Les mathématiques et la science économique » (1954).

Die Biotechnologie wird häufig als eine sehr bedeutende Technologie des 21. Jahrhunderts angesehen. Allerdings sind die empirischen Erkenntnisse über ihre wirtschaftlichen Effekte bislang gering. Daran setzt diese Arbeit an. Auf der Basis von theoretischen Wirkungszusammenhängen untersucht der Autor mögliche zukünftige Produktions- und Beschäftigungseffekte der Biotechnologie. Dabei werden in verschiedenen Szenarien für das Jahr 2020 technologische Entwicklungen für verschiedene Anwendungsfelder projiziert und mit einem Input-Output-Modell gekoppelt. Die Ergebnisse ermöglichen Aussagen über die Nettoveränderung der Produktion und Beschäftigung sowie Veränderungen im sektoralen Strukturwandel durch die Diffusion der Biotechnologie.

In the perioperative setting and in intensive care medicine, early and effective hemodynamic management including fluid therapy and administration of vasoactive drugs to maintain vital organ perfusion and oxygen delivery is mandatory. Understanding the different approaches in the management of critically ill patients during the resuscitation and further management is essential to initiate adequate context- and time-specific interventions. Optimization of hemodynamic variables to achieve a balance between organ oxygen delivery and consumption is a cornerstone. In general, cardiac output (i.e., the blood flow) is considered a major determinant of oxygen supply and thus its monitoring is regarded helpful. However, indicators of oxygen requirements are equally necessary to assess adequacy of oxygen supply. Currently, more and more less or even totally non-invasive monitoring systems have been developed and clinically introduced, but they require validation in particular clinical settings. Cardiac output monitors and surrogates of organ oxygenation only enable to adequately guide management, as patient’s outcome is determined by acquisition and interpretation of accurate measurements, and finally, suitable management decisions.This Research Topic focuses on the currently available techniques, especially the less and non-invasive ones, in the field of hemodynamic monitoring in the perioperative setting and in critically ill patients while summarizing their advantages and limitations.

Eine zentrale Herausforderung der selektiven Industriepolitik besteht darin, die volkswirtschaftliche Förderungswürdigkeit eines Unternehmens anhand objektiver Kriterien messbar zu machen. In der Arbeit wird ein neues Verfahren zur unternehmensspezifischen Wirkungsmessung vorgestellt, das hilft, die Defizite der bestehenden Ansätze zu beheben. Durch die transparente Aufbereitung der volkswirtschaftlichen Verflechtungen in den Konzepten der inländischen Input-Output-Tabelle können neben den direkten volkswirtschaftlichen Wirkungen eines Unternehmens auch dessen indirekte und induzierte Ausstrahleffekte auf die deutsche Volkswirtschaft quantifiziert werden. Die kumulativen Effekte auf die inländische Produktion, Wertschöpfung und Beschäftigung vermitteln ein objektives Bild der volkswirtschaftlichen Bedeutung des analysierten Unternehmens aus der Perspektive des Staates.
