Abstract

A obra analisa a relação conclusiva expressa por meio das conjunções então e portanto, em dados do português falado nos países lusófonos. Para tanto, utiliza o aparato teórico da Gramática Discursivo-Funcional, modelo que privilegia a intenção comunicativa do falante ao fazer uso do sistema linguístico em situação de interação. A análise revela a existência de três diferentes tipos de relação conclusiva: a Função Resumo (que ocorre entre porções textuais maiores, para sintetizar uma explanação anterior), a Função Conclusão (que relaciona indiretamente duas orações por meio de uma premissa) e a Função Consequência (que relaciona diretamente duas orações, à semelhança de causa-consequência).

Abstract

A obra nasce no bojo das discussões e problemas relacionados (ou associados) ao ensino de gramática, tanto no âmbito acadêmico quanto no profissional. Em tal contexto, Ana Carolina Sperança-Criscuolo busca demonstrar a adequação pedagógica da proposta de descrição e análise de orações subordinadas substantivas sob uma perspectiva funcionalista-cognitivista.A autora escolhe o domínio da sintaxe pela importância desse nível de organização da língua na arquitetura do texto. Além disso, o processo de subordinação substantiva, foco da pesquisa, figura como recurso bastante recorrente e produtivo no português. O estudo dos aspectos pragmático-discursivos ligados a tal processo pode, assim, proporcionar melhor entendimento e maior domínio dessas construções e, consequentemente, dos textos.O livro organiza-se em cinco capítulos. Neles, a autora apresenta um breve histórico sobre o desenvolvimento dos estudos linguísticos, discute os princípios teóricos que nortearam a pesquisa, trata da perspectiva cognitivista no estudo da língua, aborda o tratamento tradicional do período composto por subordinação. Partindo de usos autênticos das orações, ela ainda analisa aspectos pragmáticos e discursivos associados a sua organização e, finalmente, promove uma discussão sobre elementos que possibilitam refletir sobre a língua como um sistema complexo e dinâmico.

Abstract

The debate on universals has been stimulated by advances in cultural studies and the humanities in general. Considering literature as a universal feature that can be found in any culture, the question is: a) what are the characteristics of literature as an anthropological constant? b) which specific occurrences of literature can be found in different times, cultures and languages – and how is it possible to compare them? c) How has literature been able to mediate over time between different cultures and their often opposing concepts? The wide field of literature transgressing and bridging borders comes into play here, e.g. translations, multilingual and “intercultural” literatures, travel journals and ethnographic interpretations. The main part of the anthology highlights the interplay of cultural impregnation and a universal motivation to express oneself by means of literature – by theoretical approaches as well as by studies with a view on German literature from the outside and/or a focus on the representation of the world in German literary texts. The closing chapter, “intercultural text workshop” enables the reader to gain insight into an ever more important feature of present-day literature: texts from authors who deliberately opted for German as their literary language - Marica Bodrožić, Tzveta Sofronieva, Yoko Tawada, José F.A. Abstract

The articles in this anthology display the diversity of innovative approaches chosen in ongoing or concluded PhD and professorial dissertations in the field of German as a Foreign or Second language. They include studies in text comprehension research, critical needs analysis, discourse analysis, empirical didactics and analyses of the learning process in its cultural context. In line with the characteristics of the kaleidoscope, the editors do without any systematic classification of the contributions and do not claim to establish some kind of carthography of the current state of young GFL/GSL reaearch. They would rather invite the reader to look optimistically on the development of young GFL/GSL research and reflect upon the structure and the instruments of support to young GFL/GSL researchers.

Abstract

Nederlands in het perspectief van uitspraakverwerving en contrastieve taalkunde (“Dutch from the point of view of pronunciation acquisition and contrastive linguistics”) gives an overview of linguistic research carried out on Dutch by specialists from different parts of Europe. As the title suggests, the book covers two topics: (1) recent developments in the research into the pronunciation of Dutch as a second or foreign language, including research into pronunciation norms and the teaching of pronunciation; (2) recent theoretical and methodological developments in contrastive linguistics providing new insights about various cross-linguistic issues, including translation.

Abstract

The Bologna Process, whose objective is the creation of an „European Higher Education Area“, should be concluded in 2010. In the last years the reactions ranged from total rejection over a more temporising attitude to clear and unambiguous affirmation. Hence, the „Fachverband Deutsch als Fremdsprache“ (FaDaF – association for German as a foreign language) has accepted the challenge to enter on the level of science policy the discussion about the higher education structural reforms as far as the subject of German as a Foreign Language (DaF) is concerned. With the help of reports on the current situation and the future of the DaF degree programmes in various European countries, contributions regarding the crucial problems of the higher education structural reforms and a position paper about the curricular basis of the BA/MA degree programmes in the field of German as a foreign language, the basic parameters of the ongoing restructuring in this subject are discussed here.

Abstract

21 articles give insights into German Studies outside the German-speaking countries. The contributions cover as wide a range as reports country by country, descriptions of individual profiles and local study plans, conceptual cross-country approaches and analyses of specific aspects of general relevance. In all their diversity, the articles demonstrate, besides the basic consensus that German and Germany are to be taught as manifestations of another culture, further similarities: Almost without exception German studies have entered a transitional phase that is not only characterized by curriculum reforms but also by discussions about the identity of German studies themselves. Here, the practical orientation seems to be a central point since, more and more, German Studies are seen as a professional education, too.

Abstract

Competence orientation opens up always new perspectives for teaching German as an Foreign and as a second language (DaF/DaZ) . The current tendencies of competence orientation presented here are include: - Specialist language skills in the fields of theology and medicine, - the expertise of teachers in relation to learning styles, Grammar and Intercultural Competence as well as - two contrasting analyses of the speech act of the written complaint and oral criticism. Without exception, the authors are enthusiastic and inspiring Teachers who are at the same time committed and open to new challenges, going the extra mile in research. The result of this close interaction of theory and practice are research results with direct application orientation. This is the claim of the series "DaF/DaZ in research and teaching". Christina Maria Ersch has studied German and Scandinavian Studies in Göttingen and German as a foreign language in Mainz, where she works as an academic employee. She has been teaching for several years DaF, is a certified telc examiner and teaches professional training courses on neurodidactics and action-oriented learning. Her research interests include the general didactics with focus on practical competence orientation and the intercultural communication. Die Kompetenzorientierung eröffnet gerade für das Fach Deutsch als Fremd- und Zweitsprache (DaF/DaZ) immer wieder neue Perspektiven für die Lehre. Die hier vorgestellten aktuellen Tendenzen der Kompetenzorientierung umfassen: • fachspezifische Sprachkompetenzen für die Bereiche Theologie und Medizin, • die Fachkompetenzen von Lehrkräften in Bezug auf Lernstile, Grammatik und Interkulturelle Kompetenz sowie • zwei kontrastive Analysen des Sprechaktes der schriftlichen Beschwerde und der mündlichen Kritikäußerung. Die Autorinnen sind ohne Ausnahme begeisterte und begeisternde Lehrkräfte und Dozentinnen, die gleichzeitig engagiert und offen neue Wege in der Forschung gehen. Das Ergebnis dieser engen Verzahnung von Theorie und Praxis sind Forschungsergebnisse mit direkter Anwendungsorientierung. Das ist der Anspruch der Reihe DaF/DaZ in Forschung und Lehre. Christina Maria Ersch hat Germanistik und Skandinavistik in Göttingen und Deutsch als Fremdsprache in Mainz studiert, wo sie als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin tätig ist. Sie unterrichtet seit mehreren Jahren DaF, ist zertifizierte telc-Prüferin und leitet Weiterbildungskurse zu Neurodidaktik und Handlungsorientiertem Lernen. Ihre Forschungsinteressen liegen u. a. in der allgemeinen Didaktik mit Fokus auf praktischer Kompetenzorientierung und der interkulturellen Kommunikation.&#xD;
