Abstract

Questo testo presenta i risultati del lavoro di un gruppo di ricerca dell'Universit&agrave; di Firenze volto ad evidenziare le conseguenze della disomogeneit&agrave; dei criteri di riconoscimento del privilegio del credito artigiano nelle procedure concorsuali sul governo dell'impresa artigiana. La ricerca ha tentato inoltre di contribuire al superamento di alcuni criteri economico-fi nanziari utilizzati per discriminare tra imprese meritevoli del riconoscimento del privilegio e altre imprese, anche attraverso l'elaborazione di un criterio alternativo, gi&agrave; sottoposto ad una prima validazione empirica.

Abstract

This book proposes theoretical reflections, tools and techniques for a business ethic that aims at the construction of social welfare. A correct connotation of business ethics is seen in its role of interface between the ontology of the "enterprise phenomenon" and the social ethics of its operation. The book upholds the theory that business development can be such only if it leads to the emancipation of the persons affected by the same. A development in which, that is, it is not only the economic results that have bearing, but above all the way in which they are obtained and exploited. In enterprise, too, priority should hence be given to a practice implemented in a conscientious manner which enhances the complete development of the persons involved, whether they are workers or consumers.

Abstract

Il turismo negli ultimi decenni &egrave; diventato una delle principali industrie dell'economia mondiale. In questo contesto, lo studio delle destinazioni turistiche si configura sempre pi&ugrave; come un elemento critico per la competitivit&agrave; dei paesi a vocazione turistica. L'obiettivo di questa ricerca &egrave; stato principalmente individuare quali sono i sistemi locali turistici in Italia ed in che modo competono tra di loro. Attraverso l'applicazione della metodologia Istat-Sforzi e le tecniche di Econometria Spaziale, il volume propone un ampio panorama di rappresentazione cartografiche delle destinazioni italiane ed elabora una proxi di analisi per misurare empiricamente le fonti di competitivit&agrave; di questi sistemi di impresa, concentrandosi in particolare sulla filiera turistica allargata e su reti di destinazioni.

Abstract

La valutazione della performance di un'impresa, pubblica o privata, basata sui concetti di produttivit&agrave; ed efficienza, deve essere condotta utilizzando strumenti metodologici adeguati, specificatamente individuati nell'ambito di una teoria della produzione. Il volume offre una panoramica dell'evoluzione del concetto di efficienza - ed in particolare dell'efficienza tecnica rispetto alle possibilit&agrave; produttive - e delle metodologie con cui si affrontano i problemi della sua misurazione, attraverso un'esposizione che esamina sia gli aspetti teorici, sia quelli pratici, con particolare riferimento soprattutto all'ambito universitario.

Abstract

The first lesson on industrial design has to address questions such as «what is industrial design?» «what are its relations with the world of production?» «in what way does it change our perception of objects?». By now the word «design» is a part of our language used – relevantly, superficially or casually – to qualify myriad aspects of everyday experience. However the semantic elasticity of the term conceals a professional practice, a decision-making process and a productive research the results of which have profoundly affected our society and our lives. A designer does not simply design an object. Through the object he or she also conditions the physical and emotional scenario of the people who use it. Just as industry does not simply offer goods, but distributes culture or non-culture through its choices of product design. Explaining what this creative activity consists of, which spheres it comprises, who are the actors and what skills are required of them, this book aims to provide critical tools and stimulate further study.

Abstract

The Stanze della Moda project has set up an Observatory with the purpose of economic and management monitoring of the fabric of the Florentine companies through a marketing and research workshop. The analysis of several major international retailers demonstrates the emergence of a successful business model which, albeit in some respects idiosyncratic and difficult to transfer, represents an innovative stimulus for companies in the sector that want to redefine their competitiveness in the face of the altered market conditions. The focus on the Florentine companies delineates the ways in which the local manufacturers intercept the purchasing channels of major retail, creating a mediated form of sales on the international markets.

Abstract

Il volume - frutto della costruzione di una banca dati sulla popolazione di imprese e sulle loro caratteristiche illustra il percorso di sviluppo del sistema orafo aretino, un caso rilevante per il suo prestigio internazionale e l'utilizzo di manodopera altamente specializzata; e nel contempo una tipologia interessante in quanto forma distrettuale emergente nata per gemmazione da una grande impresa. L'analisi rappresenta un approfondimento del processo di distrettualizzazione e un supporto metodologico per ulteriori indagini. Ma costituisce anche uno strumento per la comprensione delle dinamiche economiche di lungo periodo che hanno caratterizzato una delle pi&ugrave; vitali aree produttive della Toscana.

Abstract

This work addresses issues of strategic marketing and business management in the fashion system, highlighting the specific and differentiated elements. The authors analyse the textile-clothing sector, with special focus on the processes of innovation, the dynamics and the new agents emerging in the distribution field, the role of the brand and the internationalisaton of the enterprises. In conclusion, the study identifies various emerging marketing strategies on which a specific research approach to fashion marketing can be constructed.

Abstract

The lagging behind of the Italian economy in the sphere of technologically advanced manufacture represents a significant factor in the debate on the risks of the country's decline. Nevertheless we know relatively little about the diffusion in Italy of companies specialising in information technology. The research presented in this book – the outcome of a national project – reveals how this sector is dominated by small businesses, concentrated in a number of urban areas (the cases studied are Pisa, Florence, Turin, Osimo and Castelfidardo). It emerges that the social networks linking the businessmen with University researchers are crucial to an understanding of the processes of innovation. But what is equally important is the capacity of the collective entities, both public and private, to provide the entire country with the services that are indispensable for the development of enterprise.

Abstract

From the late Sixties on, industrial development in Italy evolved through the spread of small and medium sized firms, aggregated in district networks, with an elevated propensity to enterprise and the marked presence of owner-families. Installed within the local systems, the industrial districts tended to simulate large-scale industry exploiting lower costs generated by factors that were not only economic. The districts are characterised in terms of territorial location (above all the thriving areas of the North-east and Centre) and sector, since they are concentrated in the "4 As" (clothing-fashion, home-decor, agri-foodstuffs, automation-mechanics), with some overlapping with "Made in Italy". How can this model be assessed? This is the crucial question in the debate on the condition and prospects of the Italian productive system between the supporters of its capacity to adapt and the critics of economic dwarfism. A dispassionate judgement suggests that the prospects of "small is beautiful" have been superseded, but that the "declinist" view, that sees only the dangers of globalisation and the IT revolution for our SMEs is risky. The concept of irreversible crisis that prevails at present is limiting, both because it is not easy either to "invent", or to copy, a model of industrialisation, and because there is space for a strategic repositioning of the district enterprises. The book develops considerations in this direction, showing how an evolution of the district model is possible, focusing on: gains in productivity, scope economies (through diversification and expansion of the range of products), flexibility of organisation, capacity to meld tradition and innovation aiming at product quality, dimensional growth of the enterprises, new forms of financing, active presence on the international markets and valorisation of the resources of the territory. It is hence necessary to reactivate the behavioural functions of the entrepreneurs.
