Abstract

“Schule der Gesellschaft” Knowledge systems in Zurich educational practices between 1771 and 1834 The great social and political revolutions of 1798 and 1831 fueled efforts at radical restructuring of education policy. There were, however, gaps between the new norms and traditional local practices. Official and intellectual setting of new standards clashed with local and regional needs and conceptions of schooling. In a process of gradual adjustment, locally varying mixtures of new prescriptions and traditional approaches emerged. Making use of voluminous source material, consisting principally of answers to school surveys from 1771 and 1779, as well as reports of school authorities from 1834, the study provides a comparative view across several hundred Zurich schools. The author conveys a nuanced portrayal of educational practices at the turn of the 19th century. The results of the study reveal similarities in schooling approaches across the region, and show the societal knowledge system underlying them. Investigating schools requires examining the surrounding society as well.

Abstract

What is going on in Kulturskolen – the Norwegian municipal school of music and performing arts? And what is the relation between the activities in the practice field and research? Kulturskolen is a type of school dependent on cooperation with others – kindergardens, primary and secondary schools, voluntary and professional cultural life, higher education and nonprofit organizations. The field of research related to Kulturskolen is similarly diverse; including both educational research, artistic research and organizational research. This anthology is the result of IRISforsk, a research group linked to the development project for kulturskole named IRIS. The IRIS-project was executed in collaboration between The Norwegian Council for Schools of Music and Performing Art and The Savings Bank Foundation DNB/Dextra Musica, and ran from 2014 to 2016. The anthology includes 13 chapters, eight of which are scientific papers evaluated by external peer-review. Contributors in the anthology are affiliated with five different educational institutions. The chapters discuss and visualize the scope of music and art school related research, including didactics, professional-oriented and management-focused issues, as well as organizational cooperation, talent development and culture as a tool for inclusion. The anthology targets anyone with an interest in research and development in the music and art school related field – researchers, staff and students in artistic education, teacher education and management education, as well as teachers, managers and other practitioners in the field.

Abstract

As the title of this treatise indicates, the topic is communication about quality. The author explores the general possibilities and limits of linguistic communication regarding the quality of grade school concerts, with specific concerts as her observational data. The crucial question is where to draw the line between what can be expressed verbally and what cannot when it comes to communicating about quality in this context. The point of departure for the author’s exploration is the noticeable tension that exists between different participants in The Cultural Rucksack (DKS) initiative and the school concert arena. Other researchers have explored this issue, but their contributions do not converge regarding the level of tension and the content of the different stances (cf. Borgen & Brandt 2006; Breivik & Christophersen 2014; Holdhus 2014). When Music Makes Sense aims particularly at clarifying the latter question, i.e., illuminating the specific content of the different stances. The lines of conflict and accord are made more apparent and palpable, and previous research is partly amended. This applies notably to the pupils own opinions on quality, as the treatise shows that they have more divergent opinions than what had been noted in previous research on DKS.

Abstract

Im Rahmen der Schriftenreihe „Wissenschaftliche Untersuchungen zur Arbeit der Stiftung ‚Haus der kleinen Forscher‘“ werden regelmäßig wissenschaftliche Beiträge von renommierten Expertinnen und Experten aus dem Bereich der frühen Bildung veröffentlicht. Diese Schriftenreihe dient einem fachlichen Dialog zwischen Stiftung, Wissenschaft und Praxis, mit dem Ziel, allen Kitas, Horten und Grundschulen in Deutschland fundierte Unterstützung für ihren Bildungsauftrag zu geben. Der elfte Band der Schriftenreihe mit einem Geleitwort von Rudolf Tippelt fokussiert die Zieldimensionen für Multiplikatorinnen und Multiplikatoren früher MINT-Bildung sowie einer frühen Bildung für nachhaltige Entwicklung. Olaf Köller und Esther Winther formulieren, basierend auf den Merkmalen erfolgreicher Lehrkräfte- und Erwachsenenbildung, ein Modell professioneller Kompetenz für Multiplikatorinnen und Multiplikatoren früher MINT-Bildung. Olaf Köller, Johannes Magenheim, Uwe Pfenning, Jörg Ramseger, Mirjam Steffensky, Christian Wiesmüller, Esther Winther und Bernd Wollring erörtern zentrale Zieldimensionen guter MINT-Erwachsenenbildnerinnen und -bildner wie die motivationalen Orientierungen und Überzeugungen, die selbstregulativen Fähigkeiten, die fachspezifischen und fachdidaktischen sowie die pädagogisch-psychologischen Zieldimensionen des Professionswissens. Sie geben zudem Empfehlungen für die Priorisierung der Zieldimensionen und für die (Weiter-)Entwicklung der Stiftungsangebote. Heike Molitor kommentiert diese Zieldimensionen aus Sicht einer Bildung für nachhaltige Entwicklung und beschreibt, welchen Anforderungen Multiplikatorinnen und Multiplikatoren im Kontext einer (MINT-)Bildung für nachhaltige Entwicklung begegnen. Das Fazit des Bandes beschreibt die Umsetzung der fachlichen Empfehlungen in die inhaltlichen Angebote der Stiftung „Haus der kleinen Forscher“ und gibt einen Ausblick auf die weitere wissenschaftliche Begleitung der Stiftungsarbeit.

Abstract

Encore trop peu connu, le fonds de dessins du département des Estampes et de la Photographie de la Bibliothèque nationale de France constitue une des collections les plus riches qui soient, sans doute équivalente à celle du département des Arts graphiques du musée du Louvre. Cet inventaire consacré à cinq cent soixante feuilles de l’école française du xviie siècle conservées à la Réserve du département vient mettre en valeur une partie essentielle de ce fonds. Formant le cœur de la collection de dessins de maîtres français du xviie siècle, cet ensemble, d’une profonde originalité, renferme, à côté de feuilles de maîtres connus et bien représentés dans les collections publiques françaises, de nombreux dessins en rapport avec des estampes. Couvrant les vastes champs de création de la gravure, il révèle des artistes oubliés ou trop souvent assimilés par l’histoire de l’art à un seul genre (tels Louis Richer, Marin Desmarestz, Daniel Rabel ou Claude Spierre). Fruit de recherches approfondies, qui ont permis de vérifier les attributions et de préciser l’appareil bibliographique de chaque pièce, ce travail s’inscrit dans un cadre chronologique qui va de la génération des artistes nés vers 1590 (celle de Simon Vouet, Jacques Callot ou Pierre Brebiette), jusqu’à celle, qui naît vers 1650-1655, des Bonnart, grands diffuseurs des gravures de mode. Abstract

Pensare la scuola come «vivaio di relazioni umane» significa richiamare l’attenzione sulla dimensione di contatto e di interscambio che intercorre quotidianamente fra insegnanti e studenti, impegnati nella complessa e sfidante avventura di «imparare a conoscere», «imparare a fare», «imparare a vivere insieme» e «imparare ad essere». Il teatro che entra – e deve entrare – oggi nella scuola, lo fa a pieno titolo, non è un riempitivo o un’aggiunta a quelle che sono le attività proprie del curricolo scolastico, né può essere ricondotto ad una visione di disciplinarità settoriale o tanto meno può essere assimilabile ad un’occasione di spettacolarizzazione. Si tratta, invece, di un dispositivo “in grado di mettere al primo posto la centralità del gruppo, che esalta la potenzialità progettuale e che, dal punto di vista dei contenuti, si orienta in due direzioni preferenziali, rappresentate rispettivamente dall’utilizzo di testi scolastici da adattare e dall’elaborazione di testi drammaturgici preparati assieme agli alunni”(C. Scurati). La tesi del presente volume è dunque che l’Educazione alla Teatralità non sia da relegarsi all’occasionalità – sia pure creativa, culturalmente interessante –, ma costituisca una parte significativa del curricolo, soprattutto nella scuola di base. E’ significativa perché si tratta di una modalità particolarmente vicina al modo di comunicare del ragazzo, e quindi efficace per stabilire relazioni intellettuali importanti; lo è anche perché è un linguaggio integrato, coinvolgente corpo, mente, emozioni, tutto quanto costituisce la persona reale e, come tale, capace di educare tutto l’alunno. Può dunque fungere da collante per tutta l’esperienza scolastica. Pertanto, gli autori sostengono che “esiste una pedagogia della maschera” se si concepisce la scuola quale spazio di comunicazione alta e vi si accosta il teatro, a sua volta forma integrata di comunicazione che si concretizza in uno scambio di relazioni creative e complessive, dalle quali scaturiscono prodotti contrassegnati dal marchio dell’arte. In questo senso l’incontro scuola-teatro avviene come mutuazione da parte della scuola di modalità di comunicazione teatrali onde perseguire propri fini di formazione degli alunni.

Abstract

A fact-finding research conducted together with college students to listen to secondary school students, teachers and directors about the issue of school dispersion. Which are the motivations behind the school dispersion? What we can do to prevent it? What is its consistency? How many students have failed the exams? These are some of the questions on which the perception of the participants has been solicited, with a particular focus on the students' voice, received by other older students.
