Abstract

This work establishes an integrated tool chain from modeling physical simulations to design automation for FPGA-based real-time simulations. Modelica was chosen as a versatile, intuitive and object-oriented modeling language. The implemented tool chain incorporates high-level synthesis methods to generate a VHDL design. Both floating-point and fixed-point arithmetic are supported.

Abstract

Schwerpunkt des Buches ist, durch ein aufgabenorientiertes Entwicklungswerkzeug und entsprechende Technologien dazu beizutragen, die Komplexität der Entwicklungsaufgaben besser zu beherrschen. Die vorliegende Arbeit behandelt die Konzeption und Realisierung einer solchen Entwicklungsumgebung. Speziell für den Entwicklungsschwerpunkt Fahrdynamikregelsysteme werden hierbei folgende Anforderungen berücksichtigt: Bedienbarkeit, Durchgängigkeit, Modell- und Datenmanagement, Modularität, Skalierbarkeit, Echtzeitfähigkeit und Automatisierbarkeit. Es wurden leistungsfähige, objektorientierte Modellbibliotheken für die Fahrzeuge Pkw, Motorrad und Pkw-Anhänger und deren verschiedene Baugruppen entwickelt. Die Modelle sind Herstellerübergreifend einsetzbar und genügen den aktuellen Erfordernissen der Fahrdynamik-Reglerentwicklung. Der Reifen-Fahrbahn-Kontakt hat maßgeblichen Einfluss auf das Fahrverhalten und die Fahrsicherheit von Fahrzeugen und stellt für die meisten Fahrdynamik-Regler die wesentliche Eingriffsmöglichkeit auf die Fahrdynamik dar. Die Kinematik des Reifen-Fahrbahn-Kontakts auf gewölbten Fahrbahnen wird als ein Problem der räumlichen Kinematik verstanden und durchgearbeitet. Die Größen Schlupf und Schräglauf werden zum ersten Mal auch für räumliche Fahrbahnen präzise definiert.

Abstract

Die vorliegende Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit der Sicherheit (Security) von Automobilelektronik, speziell der Kommunikation zwischen Fahrzeugen für Safety-Anwendungen. Hierzu wird die Absicherung der Kommunikation über digitale Signaturen betrachtet und eine prototypische Implementierung auf rekonfigurierbarer Hardware vorgestellt. Darüber hinaus wird die Absicherung der Kommunikationsplattform selbst über die Anwendung von Trusted Computing für rekonfigurierbare Systeme sichergestellt.

Abstract

The compliance with functional safety according to the standard ISO 26262 in context of the increasing electrification of road vehicles is a significant challenge. This work provides a concept and methodology for the model-based development of functional safe hardware. This is characterized by the description of hardware designs, annotation of failure data and performing the demanded safety evaluations.

Abstract

In this dissertation, concepts of the electronic architecture of automotive Integrated Safety System are developed as a cooperative approach of engineering process, dependable hardware architecture and software platform. The development process covers distributed rapid prototyping with virtual front-loading and correct-by-construction. Concepts of fault tolerant hardware architecture and dependability software services are discussed with design guidelines.

Abstract

This book presents a selection of papers representing current research on using field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) for realising image processing algorithms. Abstract

Electronic engineering and design innovation are both academic and practical engineering fields that involve systematic technological materialization through scientific principles and engineering designs. Abstract

Energy efficiency and low-carbon technologies are key contributors to curtailing the emission of greenhouse gases that continue to cause global warming. The efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions also strongly affect electrical power systems. Renewable sources, storage systems, and flexible loads provide new system controls, but power system operators and utilities have to deal with their fluctuating nature, limited storage capabilities, and typically higher infrastructure complexity with a growing number of heterogeneous components. In addition to the technological change of new components, the liberalization of energy markets and new regulatory rules bring contextual change that necessitates the restructuring of the design and operation of future energy systems. Sophisticated component design methods, intelligent information and communication architectures, automation and control concepts, new and advanced markets, as well as proper standards are necessary in order to manage the higher complexity of such intelligent power systems that form smart grids. Due to the considerably higher complexity of such cyber-physical energy systems, constituting the power system, automation, protection, information and communication technology (ICT), and system services, it is expected that the design and validation of smart-grid configurations will play a major role in future technology and system developments. However, an integrated approach for the design and evaluation of smart-grid configurations incorporating these diverse constituent parts remains evasive. The currently available validation approaches focus mainly on component-oriented methods. In order to guarantee a sustainable, affordable, and secure supply of electricity through the transition to a future smart grid with considerably higher complexity and innovation, new design, validation, and testing methods appropriate for cyber-physical systems are required. Therefore, this book summarizes recent research results and developments related to the design and validation of smart grid systems.
