Abstract

Selektive Regressionstestmethodiken analysieren auf Basis einer auf eine Systemdarstellung abgebildeten Modifikation, welche Testfälle für eine systematische Überprüfung der Änderung selbst sowie aller potentiellen durch eine mögliche Fehlwirkung betroffenen Teilbereiche des Systems notwendig sind. Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit wird erstmals eine effiziente und spezifikationsbasierte Regressionstestmethodik nach ISO 26262 für die E/E-Systemebene entwickelt.

Abstract

Like the ancient inquiries into the nature of things, contemporary continental realism and materialism, from Deleuze to the Speculative Realists, embraces a commitment to investigate beings, without subordinating it to analyses of language, consciousness, texts or the social.This pensée brute, traditionally known as metaphysics, dares to question the one and the many, the potential and the actual, the material and immaterial and the world itself. This apparent kinship is not merely thematic, since contemporary thinkers explicitly and repeatedly return to the texts and figures of the Greco-Roman world. In this volume, leading philosophers address these varied, volatile, and novel interactions and themselves contribute to reconceiving and redeploying the problems of ancient metaphysics. Alongside this are 2 original and previously unpublished translations of essays by Gilles Deleuze and Pierre Aubenque.

Abstract

"The study aim was twofold: 1) Review basic principles of test-retest reliability,&#xD;and 2) investigate the reliability of a test procedure of a one-minute time trial on an ergometer&#xD;bicycle in relatively well-trained young adults. The subjects (N = 12) completed three “all-out”&#xD;intervals on the bicycle ergometers where average watt produced was recorded. The results&#xD;of the experiments showed no significant mean differences across tests, high ICC (.996), low&#xD;CV, TE, and SEM. The findings suggested that the ergometer test had the ability to produce&#xD;accurate and stable measurements. It also indicated that measurement biases that affected the&#xD;results did not seem to occur."&#xD;

Abstract

Software is used in many safety- and security-critical systems. Software development is, however, an error-prone task. In this work new techniques for the detection of software faults (or software ""bugs"") are described which are based on a formal deductive verification technology. The described techniques take advantage of information obtained during verification and combine verification technology with deductive fault detection and test generation in a very unified way.

Abstract

Deception is a ubiquitous phenomenon in social interactions and has attracted a significant amount of research during the last decades. The majority of studies in this field focused on how deception modulates behavioral, autonomic, and brain responses and whether these changes can be used to validly identify lies. Especially the latter question, which historically gave rise to the development of psychophysiological "lie detection" techniques, has been driving research on deception and its detection until today. The detection of deception and concealed information in forensic examinations currently constitutes one of the most frequent applications of psychophysiological methods in the field. With the increasing use of such methods, the techniques for detecting deception have been controversially discussed in the scientific community. It has been proposed to shift from the original idea of detecting deception per se to a more indirect approach that allows for determining whether a suspect has specific knowledge of crime-related details. This so-called Concealed Information Test is strongly linked to basic psychological concepts concerning memory, attention, orienting, and response monitoring. Although research in this field has intensified with the advancement of neuroimaging techniques such as PET and fMRI in the last decade, basic questions on the psychological mechanisms underlying modulatory effects of deception and information concealment on behavioral, autonomic, and brain responses are still poorly understood. This Research Topic brings together contributions from researchers in experimental psychology, psychophysiology, and neuroscience focusing on the understanding of the broad concept of deception including the detection of concealed information, with respect to basic research questions as well as applied issues. This Research Topic is mainly composed of originalresearch articles but reviews and papers elaborating on novel methodological approaches have also been included. Experimental methods include, but are not limited to, behavioral, autonomic, electroencephalographic or brain imaging techniques that allow for revealing relevant facets of deception on a multimodal level. While this Research Topic primarily includes laboratory work, relevant issues for the field use of such methods are also discussed.

Abstract

The possibility to integrate biorecognition elements into electrochemical detection systems has opened the way to a new class of powerful analytical devices named electrochemical (EC) biosensors. The first EC biosensors employed enzymes as recognition elements; however this limited their application to redox enzymes and natural or artificial redox substrates or inhibitors. Broadening this to include non-electroactive analytes was later possible thanks to the development of affinity sensors in which specific interactions between biomolecules are exploited for developing highly selective and sensitive biosensors. Presently, the combination of the exceptional molecular recognition capabilities of antibodies and aptamers with the sensitivity, low cost, practicality of use and handiness of electrochemical devices is leading to an impressive development of EC immunosensors and aptasensors that are potentially suitable to detect a wide range of analytes, following a path that is moving alongside the most recent advances in proteomics. Interestingly, with continued improvements and refinements in EC immunosensors based on the use of labels, together with intrinsically electroactive, or those with the ability to interact with electroactive molecules, a new generation of label-free sensors is being developed. This Special Issue takes stock of the state of the art and identifies prospects for EC immuno- and aptasensors, both labeled and label-free. Emphasis is placed on analytical applications for the rapid detection of disease markers and for toxicological and food analyses.

Abstract

Despite the current need for reliable and valid test instruments to monitor the sign language acquisition of Deaf children in different countries, very few tests offering strong evidence for their psychometric properties are commercially available. A German Sign Language (DGS) test that focuses on linguistic structures acquired in preschool- and school-aged children (4-8 years old) is urgently needed. The present study uses as a template a test which has sound psychometric properties and has been standardized on another sign language as a starting point for tests of sign languages that are less documented, such as DGS.This book makes a novel contribution to the field by examining linguistic, cultural, methodological, and theoretical issues in the process of the adaptation from the source language test to the target language test, and by providing a model for future test adaptations. It also includes concrete steps for the test development and adaptation process.Adaptation and Evaluation of a German Sign Language Test addresses students and researchers alike who are involved in sign language test development and adaptation.
